MALE BUTT CORRECTION

The Brazilian Butt Lift describes a combination of liposuction and re-injection, which is used to redistribute fat deposits in the buttock area. For this purpose, fat deposits are first suctioned out in order to be able to create a contoured and harmonious transition from the buttocks to the thighs and the trunk of the body. This is followed by the actual buttock lifiting. It involves transplanting fat cells into the upper portions of the buttocks to increase volume in this area.

The Brazilian Butt Lift has recently been the subject of controversy in the media. The fact is that this procedure is a very difficult surgical method, the successful application of which requires a high degree of anatomical and plastic surgical knowledge as well as medical experience on the part of the surgeon. It is therefore highly recommended that a procedure such as the Brazilian Butt Lift is performed exclusively by plastic surgeons who, like us at JJPS, have the appropriate professional qualifications and experience in this field.

Other options for buttock reshaping are with filler materials that dissolve after some time. This procedure is well suited if only a little additional volume is desired or if the effect is to be tried out first. As with all other hyaluronic acid preparations, the special fillers for the buttocks degrade after a few months.

Due to the clear advantages of autologous fat grafting, augmentation with silicone implants has moved into the background and is now only used for special indications, e.g. lack of fat reserves on the body.

Preparation

It is important to precisely plan the areas to be suctioned and the areas to be enlarged in the buttock area. These are carefully sketched out in a standing position. Before the Brazilian Butt Lift you must not take any blood thinning medication for at least 14 days before the procedure. If you are an active smoker, the effect of the surgery is significantly reduced. Therefore, it is important to refrain from smoking so that as much of the body fat to be transplanted remains vital. There are also some contraindications, which we will discuss with you in detail during the preliminary consultation.

Technique

The procedure itself is performed by us on an outpatient basis in about 2-3 hours. This is done under general anesthesia and is painless. Beforehand, the exact surgical plan is drawn. Afterwards, the excess fatty tissue is first gently suctioned off. We use the water jet-associated Bodyjet method for this, which is particularly gentle suctioning and, in a second step, the fat is processed intraoperatively so that the pure fat cells are available for transplantation.

The fat is then injected strictly into the subcutaneous fat tissue via small mini incisions using a blunt cannula. Depending on the desired volume and the amount of fat in the body, between 400 and 800 ml of fat is inserted on each side of the buttocks. We graft about 30 percent more than the desired volume effect, because only about 70 percent of the grafted fat heals. The rest is broken down by the body.

During fat grafting, the muscle is completely left out. This allows us to make the procedure as safe as possible and minimize any risks.

At the end of the surgery, special compression pants are applied to leave out the grafted area. This is important in order not to endanger the vitality of the fat cells.

Costs & Financing

The costs for the Brazilian Butt Lift vary depending on the complexity and are made up of the surgical procedure, the material, the anesthesia and the final examinations. The costs start at around 5,500 Euros, depending on the duration and combinations with other procedures.

Risks

The procedure is now a routine operation within plastic surgery.

Nevertheless, risks may occur with regard to possible post-operative bleeding, wound healing disorders or unsightly dents. The latter may require correction later.

If the wrong technique is used with injecting fat into the muscle, this procedure can have very dangerous effects, which is why we at JJPS generally refuse injections into the muscle.

As said:

For smokers, there is a poor healing result of the fat and other problems may occur, so we strongly recommend refraining from smoking for at least four to six weeks before and after surgery!

Aftercare

The procedure is performed on an outpatient or inpatient basis in our partner clinic with an overnight stay. After the surgery, long periods of sitting must be avoided for a period of 3 weeks so that the transplanted fat is not subjected to too much pressure. Avoid sleeping on your back. Sport and heavy loads must be avoided for six to eight weeks. The result of the increase in volume can be seen after approx. 4-6 weeks, the bottom contour itself can only be finally assessed after approx. 3 months due to the swelling that is still present. During this time, special compression pants will be worn, which we will prescribe to you.

The first check is made after 2-3 days. Further follow-up checks follow. Since we work with self-dissolving sutures, there is no need to pull threads.

Sauna sessions or bathing should be avoided for two to three months. The scar is fine and with the right care, it fades quickly and is later almost invisible.

The procedure can also be easily combined with other tightening treatments.
