MONS PUBIS - CORRECTION

The cushion of skin and fatty tissue over the pubic bone can increase significantly due to genetic or hormonal factors. Women often find this bulky tissue uncomfortable. Here, the excess fatty tissue can be permanently removed with waterjet-assisted liposuction in the area of the mons pubis. In certain cases, skin tightening is also necessary. Due to the water jet-assisted method, this procedure is very gentle, so that injuries to nerves that are responsible for feeling in the clitoral area are avoided. Sexual sensation is unchanged after the operation.

Preparation

In an initial conversation, we will first clarify your complaints, wishes and needs in relation to this particular operation. Before a genital surgical procedure, you must not take any blood-thinning medication for at least 14 days and you should refrain from smoking.

Technique

The operation takes place in a combination of sedation and local anesthesia and is therefore painless. It is important to precisely mark the findings in a standing position in order to locate the exact area to be treated. The procedure itself takes about 45 minutes. Afterwards, the small, approx. 5 mm long skin incisions are sutured with self-dissolving sutures, so that painful suture removal can be avoided. Visible scars usually do not remain. The sensation remains without restriction.

Costs & Financing

The cost of a mons pubis correction start at around 1.500 Euros. They vary depending on the complexity involved and are made up of the surgical procedure, the material, the anesthetic and the final examinations.

Risks

The procedure is now a routine operation within plastic surgery. Nevertheless, there can be risks with regard to possible secondary bleeding, wound healing disorders or unsightly dimples. The latter may require correction later. We at JJPS are very familiar with genital plastic surgery, especially through our experience in centers for transgender surgery, so that the risk of complications is reduced to a minimum.

Aftercare

After a mons pubis correction, swelling and small bruises are to be expected. After about six weeks, these have usually completely subsided. In order to rule out possible wound healing disorders as far as possible, it must be ensured that no mechanical friction and stress can occur in the genital area in the first two weeks (cycling, sexual intercourse, use of tampons, horseback riding, jogging). Normal everyday activities are possible after about 4-5 days.
