BREAST LIFT
Many women are generally satisfied with their breast size. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, severe weight loss or the age-related weakness of the supporting connective tissue often cause the breasts to sag, which makes many women unhappy when they look in the mirror. With a breast lift – the technical term is mastopexy – the sagging breast is lifted and given back an aesthetically attractive and youthful shape. The volume of the breast remains the same. In contrast to breast reduction (so-called reduction mammoplasty), in a mastopexy procedure only the excess skin and connective tissue have to be removed, the glandular tissue is reshaped and the nipple and areola repositioned upwards again. To shape the breasts, we use the special "Inner Bra" technique, in which we form two straps from excess skin tissue, which stabilize the breast glands internally and thus ensure a long-lasting tightening result, even with weak connective tissue. Depending on the breast size, this procedure can be carried out with just a few incisions and is therefore very pleasing in terms of necessary scars.
Procedure
During our consultation, we take the time to discuss the appropriate technique and incision with you. In this context, we will also inform you in detail about the after-treatment and risks that may arise. About a week before your planned surgery date, the final clarification and any necessary preliminary examinations take place. On the day of the surgery, we draw the relevant operation plan together again while standing. Depending on the extent of the tightening, the procedure itself takes place in sedation or under general anesthesia by our experienced anesthetist, whom you will of course also get to know. He is with you the entire time and will be present throughout the operation. Then he makes sure that you are not in pain. The operation itself takes about two hours, during which you sleep deeply.
A special compression bra will be put on for you in the operating room after the procedure, so that you can go home after a few hours of regeneration in the patient's room - as long as you are well and feel fit. Of course you can contact the surgeon at any time by phone. You should rest completely physically for about a week, only then is it possible to do light office work or something similar again. You will be fully socially acceptable after about two weeks. However, the special compression bra should be worn 24/7 for six weeks. You should also refrain from exercising for the same amount of time. You can shower with a special shower plaster just one day after the operation.
All follow-up examinations are included with JJPS. We'll see you again the day after the operation, again about 5 days after, and for suture removal 14 days after the operation. It is advisable to arrange a check-up appointment after around six weeks and after around six months for the final check of the operation result. Before the procedure, your gynecologist should perform an ultrasound or a mammography of your breast (depending on your age and risk profile) to be on the safe side. The pain of a breast lift can be moderated well with normal painkillers.
Technique
Depending on the volume of the breast, the type of skin and the desired new breast size, either a so-called "I-cut" or a "T-cut" is used. In the case of small liftings, an incision may be made around the areola (so-called perimamillary mastopexy). The choice of technique is made depending on the degree of skin sagging and breast size. At JJPS we master all relevant techniques and find a "tailor-made" solution that suits your needs. Here, too, we often use the “Inner Bra” technique. This prevents the breast tissue from sinking again and is particularly suitable for women with weak connective tissue who want to continue to maintain their rather large breast volume.
In order to achieve perfect results, a combination of different techniques is often useful. This applies in the case of a pronounced asymmetry, where one breast is to be tightened to adjust it. We will discuss further details and all technical steps with you during our consultation hours.
Cost & financing
A breast lift starts at 2,500 euros (perimamillary donut-excision around the areola), a larger breast lift with an inner bra costs from 5,900 euros.
The possibility of financing is available upon request through one of our financing partners. External follow-up cost insurance should be taken out for all aesthetic operations. It protects you in the event of rare complications and associated follow-up costs.
Risks
In the hands of experienced specialists in plastic and aesthetic surgery with proven experience in breast surgery, a breast lift is a low-risk procedure. As a result, it generally leads to a very high level of patient satisfaction. General risks such as infections, bleeding, bruising and minor wound healing disorders are relatively rare and easy to remedy.
Aftercare
After the six weeks described above, you can take off the compression bra and increase your level of physical activity. It is important to care for scars with special products, which we will provide detailed information about during the consultation and explain how to use. With good care, the scars will hardly be visible after about 9-12 months. Your normal breast cancer screening at the gynecologist (including mammography) is of course still possible and should definitely be done regularly.
Alternatives
The jointly developed definition of the surgical goal is an important prerequisite for the patient and surgeon to understand together whether the breast volume needs to be reduced or whether a skin tightening is necessary to bring the breast back to its original shape - for example after pregnancy or severe weight loss. Unfortunately, there are no treatment alternatives that do not include surgery for sagging breasts.
Useful information
With a breast lift, an asymmetry of the breasts can often be compensated for in a simple and elegant way. If breast volume has also been lost due to severe weight loss (e.g. after gastric bypass treatment) or after pregnancy, there is the option of combining a breast lift with the insertion of breast implants (augmentation mastopexy) or autologous fat tissue transplantation (lipoaugment mastopexy).

BREAST LIFT WITH IMPLANTS
This procedure combines the classic breast lift - i.e. the lifting and shaping of a beautiful breast - with an increase in volume through an implant under the pectoral muscle. First, the previously selected implant is inserted. During this procedure, the excess skin over the pectoral muscle is removed, the nipple is raised and the remaining skin is formed into a firm and harmonious breast. In this way, it is possible to optimally coordinate resilience and volume.
This procedure is particularly suitable for women who want to maintain or increase volume after several pregnancies and breastfeeding as well as major weight loss through a breast lift.
