PRP THERAPY FOR FACIAL REJUVENATION
OR VAMPIRE LIFT

The PRP procedure for skin regeneration is one of the autologous blood therapies. It is particularly suitable for people who wish to regenerate their skin in a holistic and naturopathic way. The effectiveness of PRP has been scientifically proven, so that it is universally used in regenerative medicine as a "true all-purpose weapon". Another reason for this is its natural origin. Whether joint arthritis, wound healing, hair loss, chronic pain or other medical indications: PRP therapy has proven itself many times over.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. First, blood is drawn from a vein in the arm in a conventional manner. It is then gently centrifuged and in this way separated into its various components. In America, where PRP was developed, this type of "preparation" has received the imposing name "Vampire Lift".

TREATMENT

For the PRP treatment of the skin, the blood proteins and blood platelets are prepared so that they can then be injected into the skin in concentrated form over a large area. There, the PRP unfolds its special regeneration potential by attracting stem cells. These stimulate the natural process of tissue renewal and at the same time activate the formation of collagen and elastin. The first effects of the treatment can be seen after about two to four weeks, a significantly improved complexion and the special glow that results from this renewal of the skin and connective tissue.

This is aesthetic medicine, complete with the body's own substances and extensively scientifically proven. At JJPS, we also use PRP as part of our surgical procedures as an additive to optimize wound healing and improve skin quality after tightening in the operating room. You can find out more about this extraordinary natural product in your personal consultation or via video.

Procedure

Before the treatment, blood is taken from you in a conventional manner, about 10-30ml and this blood is processed by gentle centrifugation and about 5-15ml PRP is obtained.

Centrifugal forces are used to separate the red and white blood cells from the liquid parts. It is precisely this liquid part that is the thrombocyte (or platelet) - rich plasma, which is obtained by mere physics and without the addition of other foreign substances. Depending on the application and individual therapy planning, the PRP is then injected with a fine needle into the areas to be treated. We use a special local anesthetic beforehand to make the small punctures as painless as possible.

Technical: Platelet-rich plasma

The platelet-rich plasma contains your own growth factors and proteins in high concentrations, which then achieve a strong regenerative effect in high doses locally.

There are six important factors to be mentioned here, which help with cell renewal, stimulate cell growth of connective tissue cells, stimulate collagen production and induce the formation of new blood vessels, which optimizes local blood circulation.

  1. TGF-beta (Transforming Growth Factor) promotes cell growth and the formation of new blood vessels

  2. PDGF-AB (Platelet-derived Growth Factor) stimulates cell growth

  3. bFGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor) stimulates the connective tissue cells (so-called fibroblasts) to produce collagen, among other things

  4. IGF (insulin-like growth factor) promotes collagen synthesis even more, cell division (proliferation) and renewal and the migration and cross-linking of connective tissue cells (fibroblast migration)

  5. EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) promotes the formation of new blood vessels, regulates the regeneration of the intercellular spaces and also stimulates the connective tissue cells

  6. VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) stimulates endothelial cell proliferation and migration, i.e. the inner lining of our blood vessels

Costs

For an optimal result, about 3-6 sessions are required at intervals of 4-8 weeks. There is a simple reason for this: all cells are in different growth phases, and the interval treatment means that as many cells as possible are treated in their growth phase and thus benefit from the influence of PRP.

The PRP treatment costs 350 euros for the first session, any additional session costs 300 euros.

Risks

Treatment with PRP is basically very low-risk and well tolerated, especially since no exogenous substances are used. Side effects primarily include slight swelling and redness, which usually disappear after 12-24 hours without a trace. As with all injections, there is a minimal risk of infection, but the area to be treated is extensively disinfected and highly sterile beforehand, which tends to make infections an almost negligible side effect.

Aftercare

There are no long downtimes with this type of treatment, the recovery process does not last longer than max. 24 hours. After the injections, activities such as sports and sauna (sweating!) and swimming (contact with bacteria) should be avoided for about a day.
