PRP-TREATMENT FOR ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

Erectile dysfunction affects many men in a wide range of age groups and is a heavy burden on sufferers, regardless of their underlying triggers. Two to three regenerative treatments with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can increase blood flow to the penis to enhance erections. The increase in blood volume in the corpora cavernosa also increases the volume of the penis in erection, making the erection itself harder and thus optimizing sexual performance.

Procedure

Prior to the treatment, about 10-20 ml of blood will be taken from you. This is then gently processed by centrifugation and about 7-15 ml of PRP is extracted.

Centrifugation uses centrifugal forces to separate the red and white blood cells from the plasma. The liquid component obtained in this way is the platelet-rich plasma, which is produced physically and without the addition of other foreign substances.

Depending on the application and individual therapy planning, the PRP is injected with a fine needle into the areas to be treated. We use a special local anesthetic to make the small injections as painless as possible.

PLATELET-RICH PLASMA

Platelet-rich plasma contains your own growth factors and proteins in very high concentrations. Used locally and in high doses, they achieve a strong regenerative effect.

There are six essential factors for this, which help with cell renewal, stimulate cell growth of connective tissue cells, stimulate collagen production and, above all, induce the formation of new blood vessels to optimize local blood flow.

  1. TGF-beta (transforming growth factor) promotes cell growth and new vessel formation.

  2. PDGF-AB (Platelet-derived Growth Factor) stimulates cell growth

  3. bFGF (Fibroblast Growth Factor) timulates the connective tissue cells (so-called fibroblasts) to produce, among other things, collagen

  4. IGF (Insulin-like Growth Factor) promotes collagen synthesis even more, furthermore cell division (proliferation) and renewal and the migration and cross-linking of connective tissue cells (fibroblast migration)

  5. EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) fpromotes the formation of new blood vessels, regulates the regeneration of intercellular spaces and also stimulates connective tissue cells

  6. VEGF (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) stimulates endothelial cell proliferation and migration, i.e. the inner coating of our blood vessels

Sounds complicated? In a consultation at JJPS, we will explain to you in detail the correlations.

Costs & Financing

For an optimal result, about three sessions at intervals of 8-12 weeks are necessary. Because: All cells are in different growth phases. The treatment at intervals can ensure that as many cells as possible are treated in their optimal growth phase.

The PRP treatment to increase erectile function costs from 600 euros per session.

Risks

IIn principle, treatment with PRP is low-risk and well tolerated, as no substances foreign to the body are used. Side effects may include mild swelling and redness, which usually disappear without a trace after 12-24 hours. As with all injections, there is a minimal risk of infection, but the area to be treated is thoroughly disinfected beforehand. As the procedure is highly sterile, the likelihood of infection is reduced to a minimum.

Aftercare

There is no long recovery time with this type of treatment, the recovery process lasts no longer than 24 hours maximum. After the injections, activities such as sports and sauna (sweating!) and swimming (contact with bacteria) should be avoided for one day.
