LIPOSUCTION/
BODY CONTOURING

Human evolution has ensured that we all naturally accumulate fat deposits " for bad times " on the abdomen, legs, flanks and buttocks. In today's world, this provision for a slim and well-proportioned silhouette is often perceived as disadvantageous. However, these areas with increased subcutaneous fat are often not caused by diet alone. Genetic predisposition or hormonally influenced lipedema can also contribute to the fatty tissue developing into problem zones, which often cannot be addressed even by means of intensive sporting activity. Especially on the abdomen, the fat deposits belong to the "last reserves" of the human body, a defined abdomen is therefore not achievable for many people even with sports.

Thanks to modern combinations of methods, such as those used at JJPS, we can remove this persistent fat permanently and gently, while at the same time tightening the skin without scarring. The decisive advantage with this procedure: Once fat cells have been suctioned out, they will not come back again at this site! Unlike diets, where fat cells deflate but remain structurally, surgical liposuction removes them completely. Through meticulous planning, we can selectively suction the fat between the straight and oblique abdominal muscles using the special HiDefinition technique, thus achieving athletic body contouring: The six-pack can thus be modeled with by means of bodysculpting.

However, if calorie intake remains too high, other fat cells can grow and create problem zones elsewhere. After liposuction, one should therefore focus on a good balance of healthy eating and exercise in order to enjoy the effects of liposuction permanently.

The final result of liposuction is visible only after about 2-3 months due to swelling.

Preparation

During our consultation, we look at the problem areas that need to be addressed together with you. Depending on the findings, extensive treatment of several body regions may also be necessary. In the consultation, we will also include alternative treatment methods, such as injection lipolysis and create an individual treatment plan that suits you.

At least 14 days before liposuction, you must not take any blood-thinning medication. You should refrain from smoking during this period. There may be a few contraindications for this procedure, which we will inform you about in detail during the preparatory discussion.

Technique

On the day of the surgery, we will mark the areas to be suctioned while standing.

The procedure itself is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. If desired, the surgery can also be performed under sedation or general anesthesia.  We only recommend an overnight stay in the clinic for large volumes to be suctioned.

The operation is largely painless because the fatty tissue is "watered" in preparation. The so-called tumescence solution is first introduced under the skin into the areas to be suctioned. It consists of a mixture of isotonic water, adrenaline and a local anesthetic. In the years of our professional practice, the Bodyjet method has established itself as the most gentle and highly effective variant. With this water-jet-assisted method, the fat cells are loosened from their compound and bleeding is avoided at the same time by pushing the blood vessels forward and away from the cannula. In this way, the fat can be sucked out very gently and in a manner that is atraumatic on the tissue. Suction is carried out with cannulas through several small punctures. They are then finely sewn up and heal without scars. After the procedure, you will feel a sore muscle-like pain that can be easily controlled with normal painkillers.

Depending on the area, the procedure takes between 45 minutes and three hours.

Costs & Financing

The costs for liposuction vary depending on complexity and are made up of the surgical procedure, the material, the anesthesia and the final examinations. The costs start at 2.000 Euros, depending on the time of the operation and the combination with other procedures. Financing through one of our financing partners is possible.

Risks

Liposuction is a proven surgical procedure within plastic and aesthetic surgery that has been used for years. The overall risks are low, and there can rarely be prolonged swelling or dimpling.

Aftercare

The success of treatment depends to a large extent on your behavior after the operation. It is therefore important that you refrain from sports for a period of six weeks after the procedure. During liposuction, cavities are created in the subcutaneous tissue that have to be compressed by external pressure: A special compression garment must therefore be worn day and night for six weeks to prevent the formation of wound water (so-called seroma). After 2-3 days, the first check is carried out in our practice. Further follow-up checks follow. Since we work with self-dissolving sutures, there is no need to pull threads. You can shower again immediately after the procedure. From the second week, manual lymphatic drainage can significantly accelerate the reduction in swelling. Sauna sessions or bathing should be avoided for two months. The scars are fine and with the right care, they fade quickly and are almost invisible.

Are there reasonable alternatives to surgery?

In the case of small, circumscribed fat deposits, an adequate result can be achieved with an injection lipolysis without surgery.

Worth knowing: The extracted fat can be processed and is then used as the body's own filler to augment other areas of the body. You can find more information by reading about Lipofilling.
